Everybody got a story. This one just took me almost thirty years to understand. I spent so much time surviving that I never realized pieces of me had been left behind in places I never went back to. Hood Alchemy follows Carmen, a little girl who grew up way too fast, believing chaos was normal because chaos was all she knew. Growing up in the hood, she learned to adapt before she learned to heal. The violence. The secrets. The things adults laughed off. The people she trusted. The people she feared. She didn't realize until years later that some of her deepest wounds were hidden inside memories she never fully understood. After leaving a long-term relationship, living in a homeless shelter with her children, and feeling like life kept knocking her down every time she stood back up, memories begin returning one piece at a time. A smell. A dream. A song. A passing thought. Each memory becomes another step back toward the little girl she left behind. But Hood Alchemy isn't just a story about trauma. It's about alchemy. Alchemy is the ancient art of transformation. People once believed it could turn ordinary metals into gold. Carmen learns that life asks us to do something even harder: transform pain into purpose, confusion into clarity, survival into wisdom, and brokenness into something whole again. Some people don't lose themselves because they're weak. Sometimes they lose themselves because surviving required it. This is the story of a little girl who got lost in the world around her... and a woman brave enough to walk back through her memories to find her. Because even in the hood... God still makes gold.

Colt Hollis is reckless, grieving, and spiraling. Drowning his past in alcohol and apathy, he's convinced he's beyond saving-until a class project pairs him with Maisie Whitlock, a passionate student with stars in her eyes and a future as bright as her ambition. Maisie thought she had her life figured out, a clear academic path, and no time for heartbreak. But one accidental connection with Colt leads to late-night study sessions, laughter between the pain, and a slow unraveling of everything she thought she wanted. As secrets, betrayals, and heartache test them, Colt and Maisie must navigate a messy, magnetic love that could destroy them-or set them free.
