Hoping to escape the emotional burnout of her psychology career, Izzy Rocha takes a job as the lowest-ranking assistant at MJJ Productions in 1987 New York. She doesn't care about pop music, and she has no idea what her famous boss actually looks like.
But when a masked, stressed-out stranger storms into the office acting incredibly rude, Izzy's fierce pride kicks in and she boldly puts him in his place-only to realize she just lectured Michael Jackson. Instead of firing her, he is quietly intrigued.
