After the final world war , and many many civil wars, one of the world's last towns was divided up. Those who wanted to remain and salvage whatever they could , would stay : the groundwalkers.
Those who wanted to create a new life elsewhere would migrate to the canopies and branches above : the treesteppers. 150 years later , after betrayals and mysteries , the groundwalkers and the treesteppers fear and despise eachother, neither being seen by the other for decades.
Groundwalker Pierre has always felt out of place on the ground , always at his happiest when high. His best friend Fynn tell him that constantly that the treesteppers are evil , murderous creatures , who thrive and kill in the shadows of the trees , but how can anyone know what they're truly like if they haven't been seen by living groundwalker eyes? Are they really so different?
Treestepper Bright recently turned 192 moons , meaning she is finally allowed to become her own person , and step out of her big sister Chameleon's shadow. Bright looks for any excuse to get away from the other treesteppers, with endless patrols and guarding sessions. But one guard station gives her perfect view of the groundwalkers camp. A perfect view of the groundwalker boy reaching up into the trees....
When the two meet , an extraordinary friendship is formed. But groundwalkers and treesteppers should never see eachother... But why is it so bad? And what lies far beyond the treesteppers acres , and the groundwalkers skate parks?
