For Maya Young, college is about one thing: securing her future in sports medicine. Armed with a strict plan, a heavy pre-PT course load, and zero interest in the campus social scene, she is determined to stay completely invisible.
It's a solid plan. Except for two massive secrets.
First, the university's legendary hockey coach-a former NHL champion-is her dad. Maya grew up living and breathing the sport, but after a career-ending injury took her off the ice for good, she wants to earn her own way in the athletic department entirely on her own merits, not because of her famous last name.
Second, she just accidentally showed her hand to Chase Carter.
Chase is the charismatic captain of the hockey team, a projected first-round NHL draft pick, and the absolute center of attention on campus. When Maya lets slip a piece of brilliant, highly specific tactical advice while wrapping his ankles in the athletic clinic, Chase's curiosity is instantly piqued. He wants to know who this quiet, sarcasm-shielded girl really is.
When a chaotic Friday night out leads to a fake-dating scheme to save Chase from overzealous fans, the lines between Maya's carefully separated lives begin to blur. Getting close to the team captain means risking her secrets, her reputation, and her heart. But in a world of high-stakes sports and intense campus spotlight, falling for the star player might just be the riskiest play of all.
