I'm not like the other kids. The other kids, with their pale gold hair and pale moon faces, or dark coffee skin and hair as black as night. I don't want to waste my life, being told to believe things because some adult said so. I don't want to be shunned because I look different. I don't want this.
In this place everything is perfect. Adults hold all the answers to the world. It is meant to be simple and perfect, like chess pieces. Calculated and controlled. Black and white.
that is how it is meant to be.
But then this wouldn't be much of a story.

The party was just getting started." So his name was Roman, some big secret. I rolled my eyes at the reveal as well as his taunting sentence. "Davina, what is going on here?" Augustus asked, his eyes full of betrayal. I had never seen him so guarded. I could feel his anger through my bones. His words were careful. What was he talking about? My brows furrowed at the insinuation, "What?" A line of smoke floated around my right shoulder and come between Augustus and I. How convenient. I had the desire to swipe it away but didn't. "What can I say, she...seduced me." Roman purred. His voice was a sensual whisper in my left ear. I subconsciously lifted my shoulder and backed away from it. Xavier Diez is 18 years old, he's cold and doesn't care about anyone. He gets good grades...he's quiet but deadly, his family is rich and he gets what he wants.
