BOOK 2: Universal Monsters Presents: Frankenstein

Deep within the snow-covered mountains of southern Germany lies the isolated village of Kleinwald, a quiet alpine town preparing for Christmas beneath the shadow of Castle Frankenstein.

For generations, the villagers have whispered of the reclusive scientist Dr. Viktor Frankenstein, a brilliant but disgraced physician obsessed with conquering death itself. Hidden away inside his crumbling mountaintop castle during the brutal winter storms, Frankenstein conducts horrifying experiments in secret with the aid of his loyal assistant, Igor.

But when a violent blizzard cuts Kleinwald off from the outside world days before Christmas Eve, strange disappearances begin to terrify the village. Livestock are found mutilated in the snow, graves are disturbed, and enormous footprints appear in the frozen forests surrounding the castle.

Young schoolteacher Anna Keller and skeptical local constable Lukas Weber soon discover the horrifying truth: Frankenstein has succeeded in creating life from the dead.

The creature - known only as The Monster - is not born evil, but abandoned, confused, and hunted by the very man who created him. As Frankenstein grows increasingly unstable and obsessed with perfecting his experiments, the Monster escapes into the mountains, where fear and violence slowly transform him into the nightmare the villagers believe him to be.

With Christmas approaching and the blizzard worsening, Anna begins to realize the Monster may be less dangerous than the man who gave him life.

Now trapped between a terrified village, a ruthless creator descending into madness, and a lonely creature searching for humanity, Kleinwald stands on the brink of destruction.

On a cold Christmas Eve beneath the Bavarian snow, man and monster will face each other in a battle that will decide the fate of them all.
