on thinner ice || eteri tutberidze x fem (book II)
⚢ 2022 Weeks after the Beijing Olympics, Eteri Tutberidze is still carrying a phone number she swore she would never use. Walking away from Vera had been the sensible choice. Necessary, even. At least that is what she keeps telling herself. She thought distance would make it easier. Quiet the thoughts. Fade the memories. How wrong she had been. Distance does little to erase the memory of stolen glances, quiet conversations, and the one person who managed to see beyond the walls Eteri spent a lifetime building. Vera refuses to leave her mind, and the number Eteri promised herself she would throw away remains tucked safely inside her wallet. When life becomes too suffocating, she finally gives in and makes a decision. But wanting someone is one thing. Trusting them enough to let them in is another. Because sometimes the hardest part is not falling in love. Sometimes it is believing someone might stay. Especially for a woman who has spent most of her life preparing for people to leave. Remy Hadley doesn't have the nerves for problems. Not for a missing coach. Not for a replacement she didn't ask for.
