No one remembers when the ocean first became hungry.
Before the curse, the sea was alive with impossible things, cities carved into trenches where the sun never reached, leviathans that carried forests upon their backs, and sirens who guarded the tides with songs older than language itself. Then the sea turned against its own children. Kingdoms drowned overnight. Ships vanished without a trace. Every creature born of magic was hunted to extinction.
Or so humanity believes.

For four centuries, Neris, one of the last true sirens, has hidden within the deepest reaches of the abyss. Feared as a monster, haunted by the ghosts of her dying people, she has long accepted that she will live, and die, alone.

Captain Elian Voss has devoted her life to proving that the stories are more than myths. While the rest of the world fears the sea, she follows its whispers, convinced something ancient still survives beneath the waves. Her search ends in disaster when her crew is swallowed by a storm that should not exist... and she is saved by the very creature every legend warned her to fear.

Bound by a fragile trust neither of them understands, the two women descend into a forgotten world of drowned empires, cursed gods, and creatures twisted by an ancient malice. But something has begun singing in the darkness, a voice impossible for Neris to mistake.
