Elias Life on the prairie was uneventful, I observed the people who lived here quietly. I knew them but would make up stories for them just to pass the time, that is if I was not lost inside a good book. The day she walked into the library the prairie became a place I wanted to be. Mysterious and bold she made something stir inside me. Never before did a girl make me curious or lose my words but she did and it was terrifying. This should have been alarming but her big brown eyes and sweet scent pulled me in. There was no book to prepare me for her. Lorraine The move was for a fresh start at least that is what papa said. My papa had left early to establish a place for us. When my mama and I followed suit I was expecting a dusty old boring town. It was. The people were friendly which was nice making it hard for me to make a fuss about it. To my delight it had a library so I could escape into another world if the dullness persisted. What I found was even more interesting than a book. A very tall boy with long black hair who backed into a shelf, startled I assume making a book land on his head then the floor as he looked at me.
