Despite his modest engine and a debilitating fear of heights, Dusty qualifies for the race with the help of Skipper, a retired naval aviator. He travels the world, making friends and overcoming sabotage from the arrogant, defending champion, Ripslinger.
Ultimately, Dusty conquers his fear of flying high, relying on the training he received to win the championship.
