What happens when a writer turns everyday chaos into literature?
Things I Wrote Instead of Cleaning the House is a collection of ironic journal entries, half-memoir and half-fiction. This journal is all about marriage, procrastination, bad decisions, old refrigerators, unfinished manuscripts, suspiciously intelligent cats, and all the tiny disasters that somehow become stories.
Some entries are true. Some are exaggerated for narrative purposes (or not). Some probably became true after being written down -- can't let you in on this one, sorry... But you're free to guess in the comments if you're brave enough *wink*.
This is not a guide to becoming a better person. It is proof that ordinary life can be strange, ridiculous, tender, and occasionally more dramatic than any novel.
Welcome to the party, y'all!
