Kali

KALI - a literary romantic thriller and family mystery set between Kolkata and Bali.

Arko Sen is a forty-five-year-old Indian mathematician and options trader who built a fortune by selling time. Six years after Tara Lahiri-the first love who called him "Dexter"-dies, her sketchbook sends him on the Bali journey they promised each other and never took.

In Ubud, Arko meets Kali Lahiri: fierce, broke, grieving, and carrying her mother's ashes. She has Tara's exact face, the same hand-drawn itinerary, and a lifetime of stories about a missing man named Dexter. As they cross rice terraces, water temples, warungs, cliffs, and black-sand beaches, two strangers follow the same map toward a truth neither is prepared to survive.

Told through multiple points of view and dual timelines, KALI is an emotional slow-burn story of first love, secret parentage, grief, family mystery, psychological suspense, Bengali identity, found family, and father-daughter reconciliation. It blends literary fiction, romance, travel, mythology, and the mathematics of options trading into a moving mystery about time lost-and the impossible gift of time returned.
