Noah Carter hasn't photographed a face in four years.

After his father's death shattered everything he knew, the camera that once captured people now points only at empty streets, fading sunsets, and places that can't leave him behind. It's safer that way.

Then Ivy walks into his frame.

She's the girl with the loud laugh, messy curls, and a habit of apologizing for taking up space. To everyone else, Ivy is sunshine funny, outgoing, impossible not to love. But behind closed doors, she's fighting battles no one sees, struggling to believe she's worthy of the life she's pretending to enjoy.

When a chance encounter brings them together during their junior year of college, Noah begins noticing the little things the way she fidgets when she's anxious, the tired smile she forces when she's hurting, the quiet sadness hiding behind her bright personality. Before he realizes it, she's become the first person he's wanted to photograph in years.

As their friendship slowly grows into something neither of them expected, Noah and Ivy must confront the grief, fears, and insecurities they've spent years hiding. Because sometimes the hardest thing isn't falling in love
