Swiping - Tamara

Based on an episode from a show called 'The Rookie' which Tamara explains to Lucy and Tim what her and her now deceased friend would have to do to get a decent meal.

TAMARA:

"Losing your parents seems like the hardest thing to do, but for me, the hardest part was surviving. Nobody tells you what comes next, not the shelters, not the chance of not being able to keep your possessions safe with you, not the hunger or need for any kind of humane shelter. Out there, you have got to do whatever is necessary to get a decent meal, that being swiping on ClipTok. It was hard the first few times. But for me, it got easier. Do what they ask, get a meal and a place to sleep, and be packed up to leave the next morning... if you're lucky to stay that long. Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to understand that out there there are some deranged men that will do some horrible things to a scared and desperate girl. One night, I went with the flow, did what this guy asked, ate the things he gave to me, and that's when things started to get fuzzy. All I remember is I never want to feel that pain again. And I will forever be grateful for you, Lucy."
