Hybrid

Cori is either a failed science experiment, or a very successful one, but hasn't had a chance to decide yet. What would you call a human turned into an artificial intelligence entity that rode around in a cybernetic body?
She survives as a Guild mercenary in the underbelly of Regen City, capital of the planet Gliese. The city is a plaything for the Royal Families and the Crime Guilds that run the streets. After achieving a high mercenary rank Cori had hoped she'd be in less danger, not more as she makes a name for herself. Being a little too good at her job has garnered attention she doesn't want and her lies are wearing thin with her human friends.
When her past finally comes calling, Cori is thrown into a whirlwind of ever rising stakes that brings even Gliese's true origins into question.

Authors Note:

Hybrid is book one in a series and I've published it here for feedback and to garner an audience, hoping to be published traditionally in the future.
