Some people leave fingerprints.

You left genes.

Not the kind written beneath a microscope, but the kind etched into memory-traits inherited through love, silence, longing, and goodbye.

Our DNA Spelled Gene is a collection of poems born from a courtship that carried both tenderness and turmoil. It is a record of green flags that made a heart feel safe, red flags that slowly unraveled it, and the quiet moments in between where love tried its best to survive.

These pages do not seek to paint either soul as entirely innocent or entirely guilty. Instead, they explore the complicated truth that two people can love each other deeply while still carrying wounds they are not yet ready to heal.

Every poem is a strand in the double helix of us-woven with affection, lust, respect, disappointment, hope, and acceptance.

Because some people are not meant to become our forever.

They become our inheritance.

And sometimes, the strongest part of our DNA is not who we loved-

but who we became after loving them.
