Lishu is the Shaman Princess or child of the Great Spirit, she was born and raised by the people of the Patch Tribe, the ones who serve the will of the Great Spirit. One day, the elders decided to put the princess into hiding, protecting her from the one that betrayed her 500 years ago, using her to get one of the Elemental Spirits, Spirit of Fire

The elders sent her to Japan, even enrolling her to a private all girl school, and her guardian chosen to watch over her was Silva, and the spirit that is tasked to protect her from any harm, Tōga, who was once a Great Dog Demon General from the Feudal Era, the times where demons once roamed the lands

Then, one day, Lishu witnessed a fight between Yoh Asakura and Tao Ren. Yoh looked very beaten up, she was about to step in to help, but the fight came to an end, and the victor was Yoh. Once the battle was over, Yoh lost consciousness. Lishu helped Manta take Yoh to the hospital

Couple of days of later, the comet appeared, meaning the upcoming Shaman tournament is approaching and it was almost time for her to return home
