Jacqueline Joan Lestrange has never been anything less than a Slytherin.

Raised at Draco Malfoy's side and steeped in the same bloodline loyalties, she has never questioned the world she was born into. The purity of old wizarding families, the supremacy of their kind. Her future was supposed to be a straight, dark line: her mother's daughter, a faithful servant of the Dark Lord when he would rise again, and proud to wear the part.

But when she crosses paths with certain scruffy, black-haired boy with a ridiculous tendency to meddle in things that are none of his business and a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead that practically announces him wherever he goes, that slowly starts to change.

They despise each other at first - Jackie because he is the reason her mother was sent to Azkaban, Potter because she is a Slytherin through and through, and a prejudiced Lestrange besides. They were never supposed to be anything but enemies.

However, somewhere along the way, their relationship begins to shift. Hatred turns into tolerance, tolerance turns into - well.

Everyone seems to agree on one thing: Harry Potter has changed Jacqueline Lestrange for the better.

Jackie isn't so sure.
