PROLOGUE

Some people are destined to become your forever.

Others are only destined to teach you what love feels like.

I loved her long before I found the courage to say it.

I watched her grow.

I celebrated every achievement as if it were my own.

I protected her from every storm I could see.

And somewhere along the way...

My heart chose her without asking for permission.

But love alone was never enough.
