In a cruel dystopian world where slavery is legal and the government protects the powerful instead of the innocent, two teenagers struggle to survive-and fight for a better future.

Alonzo Perez, thirteen years old, has already endured more than most people could imagine. Taken to a secret underground laboratory, he was experimented on by mad scientists seeking to increase his power. What makes his suffering even worse is the truth: the government and the president allowed it to happen. Left with extraordinary abilities and painful memories, Alonzo grows up determined to fight against the corrupt world that created him.

Camila Silva has also suffered abuse and injustice throughout her life. Alongside Alonzo, she is taken in by a kind woman who becomes a source of comfort and protection for them both as they grow into exhausted workers. But when assassins take the woman's life, everything falls apart. Heartbroken and furious, Alonzo blames Camila for what happened. Their friendship is destroyed, and the two go their separate ways.

Determined to create his own path, Alonzo asks a friend to design him a superhero outfit. With his newfound identity, he sets out to bring justice to the people living under the oppressive government and challenge the cruel system that has stolen so many lives.

Meanwhile, Camila begins fighting in her own way. Refusing to stand by while innocent people suffer, she secretly helps enslaved people escape and find freedom.

Separated by grief and misunderstanding, Alonzo and Camila become two very different heroes fighting for the same broken world. As their paths begin to cross again, they must decide whether they can overcome the pain between them-or whether their past will destroy their chance to bring justice and freedom to everyone who needs it.
