THE SEVEN THRONES ; VICES AND ELEGIES

In the beginning, before Heaven, Earth, and humanity fully existed, there was only the Primordial Abyss, an ancient void that served as the first throne of existence. Within it lay the dormant essence of every future human sin, not yet committed but already destined to exist. From this darkness, the Abyss chose seven ancient monarchs, not because of blood or fate, but because of their indomitable will.

Each accepted one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Pride, Greed, Wrath, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth. Rather than being corrupted, they were crowned as the First Sovereigns of the Underworld, becoming eternal rulers whose authority predated both Heaven and Earth. Each Sovereign created a Dominion shaped by the nature of their Sin, and together they maintained a delicate balance under one sacred law: no Sin may ever rule alone.

As humanity grew, every act of vice strengthened its corresponding Sovereign. Yet the Seven never sought humanity's destruction, for they understood that if mankind ceased to exist, so too would Sin, and with it, their own existence. They became both tempters and guardians, preserving the balance between the Sins to prevent any single vice from consuming creation.

Across countless ages, civilizations rose and fell while the Seven Thrones endured beneath the world, silently watching history unfold. But even immortal rulers cannot escape the passage of eternity. One by one, the First Sovereigns disappeared into legend, leaving behind only their crowns. Since Sin itself can never die, each throne now waits for a worthy successor, beginning an endless saga of bloodlines, inheritance, betrayal, and the rise of new rulers destined to bear the eternal burden of the Seven Deadly Sins.
