Schools respond with counselling programmes. Officials warn about academic pressure, online influence and concealed emotional distress. Families are left to grieve while official reports suggest that the victims made their own choices.

Then the evidence begins repeating itself.

An unusual substance appears in separate toxicology reports. Symbols emerge at unrelated locations. Damaged phones produce the same brief sound before their data disappears.

At the same time, an eighteen-year-old student begins changing.

He stops eating. He barely sleeps. He vanishes during school hours and returns with injuries he refuses to explain. His anger becomes increasingly unpredictable, yet no one can identify what is controlling him.

When one missed moment causes everything to collapse, police finally discover a possible connection between the living and the dead.
