For generations, four Clans have reigned over an otherwise negligible part of the woods deep in Southern England-ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. 500 years later, times have changed.

The extinction of Twolegs acted as neither a blessing nor a curse to CavernClan and RidgeClan. Large cities eventually overran Clan territories, causing Clan life to evolve. The Twolegs have been gone for years, though, and their cities dilapidated. Divided by a large crater in the Earth, RidgeClan resides on the Summit of the city above the hollowed out Earth. Below their Clan lies CavernClan, who has long suffered the cruelty of the cats who reside so far above their territory.

Scarpaw remembers the first time that RidgeClan imposed their superiority onto CavernClan, storming their camp deep within the Crater and unleashing a violent attack onto her clanmates. She remembers just as well, the large RidgeClan warrior who sunk his teeth into her mother's neck scruff and left her body lifeless moments later. It hurt far deeper than the gash left upon her muzzle by his large claws-Foxclaw was his name.

Less than ten moons later, Foxclaw was named leader of RidgeClan. Scarpaw decided she must avenge the death of so many of her clanmates and kill Foxstar, leader of RidgeClan. Yet, she has many moons of training before she will be ready.
