Judith is branded ugly by her whole town. Not for how she looks, but because they need someone to tear apart.

Inch by inch, they break her - with words, with hands, with silence from those who just stand and watch. Until her brother Jacob comes looking for her.

But when he finds her, he finds something else too. The Uglies. Creatures who wear human faces and hide ugly hearts. They were summoned by hate, and now they've come to collect.
