Some swear she was raised by wolves beneath the watchful eyes of the old gods. Others claim she speaks with ravens, reads the future in carved bone, and walks untouched through forests where no man dares follow. Priests call her cursed. Danes call her blessed. Most simply pray they never cross her path.

Years ago, Freki disappeared into the wilderness, escaping the cruelty of her father, Kjartan the Cruel. The world believed she had died.

Her brother never stopped carrying the guilt.

Now, after Kjartan's death, whispers of a mysterious seer reach Uhtred of Bebbanburg. A woman with wolves at her side. A woman bearing the blood of Kjartan. A woman known only as the Wolf Witch.
