In an alternate universe, the Jura-Tempest Federation has evolved into the mighty Greater Jura-Tempest Empire, ruled by Emperor Rimuru Tempest and Empress Chloe. Blending magic with 20th-century technology, the Empire commands modern rifles, artillery, tanks, warships, aircraft, ballistic missiles, Redstone Golems, Obsidian Golems, and the elite Imperial Self Defense Force (ISDF).
After defeating the Kingdom of Falmuth and transforming Tempest into the world's greatest economic and military power, the Empire enjoys an age of prosperity. However, everything changes when a mysterious medieval Gate suddenly appears within Imperial territory. From it emerge the legions of the Saderan Empire, launching an invasion that forces Tempest to respond.
