Haile Mary Rivera is the younger sister of Deborah Rivera, the best friend of Leonardo Giordano.
Because of her strong and unique personality, she is often compared to her sister, Deborah. Their parents want both of them to pursue a degree in Education, but Haile doesn't want to become a teacher. Instead, she dreams of becoming a famous film scriptwriter.
Her parents are enraged and tell her that if she doesn't take a business course, they will no longer support her in college. Because of this, she chooses to run away from home. She rents an apartment and enrolls in a state university to pursue her dream course. To sustain her living expenses, she applies for a part-time job at a café. To her surprise, the owner of the café is none other than her enemy and her sister's best friend, Leonardo.
Leonardo Luciano Giordano, Deborah Rivera's gay best friend, is asked by Deborah to look after her younger sister while she works at his café. Deborah tells him the reason why Haile ran away from home.
At first, Leonardo is hesitant because Haile is not the type of girl who listens to anyone. Every time they meet, they argue about almost everything.
However, as he continues to look after her, his feelings begin to change. For the first time, he starts seeing Haile not just as Deborah's little sister, but as a woman.
