The fourth bell

Autumn, 2016.

The leaves had long surrendered to the cold, leaving the trees stripped bare beneath a sky that never seemed to brighten. The wind carried the scent of rain and withered earth, weaving through empty branches that swayed like silent witnesses to a story waiting to be told.

If someone had asked me then what I feared most, I probably would've laughed.

Late assignments.

Presentations.

My mother's lectures about waking up on time.

Maybe even the thought of failing another exam.

I thought those were the biggest problems a twenty-year-old college student could have.

Looking back now...

I would give anything to have those worries back.

Because some stories don't begin with thunder or tragedy.

They begin on ordinary mornings.

With rushed footsteps echoing down wooden stairs.

With forgotten breakfasts.

With classrooms filled with sleepy students.

With laughter that fades into memories.

And with the quiet belief that tomorrow will look exactly like today.

Mine began on an autumn morning I almost forgot.

A morning that felt so painfully ordinary, I never imagined it would become the day everything started to unravel.

If someone had told me that my entire life was about to change, I would've smiled politely and walked away.

I would've never believed them.

After all...

How was I supposed to know that the answers I had spent my whole life searching for were already searching for me?
Or that some doors, once opened, can never be closed again.
This isn't just the story of how I fell in love.
I was wrong.

Because sometimes...
the past has a way of finding you when you least expect it.
