Colors - Martin Edward Park

"Songs like this make me feel the colors. It's the closest I can get to seeing them."

I roll onto my side, eyes tracing his side profile. "And yellow? How does yellow feel?"

For a second, he's still, and after a quiet moment of realization, he whispers,

"Like you."

"You're beautiful," he takes my hand, trying not to move the IV needle.

I muster whatever strength is left in me to laugh. "Even like this?"

He nods.

"Especially like this."
