Northangered

Kit Morland is not the kind of girl you'd write about. She's sort of plain, prefers books over pretty much anything else, has aspirations of publishing a novel one day, and the only kind of boycrazy she is involves fanfiction.

So when Kit is given the opportunity to travel to the cult film festival Bath: The Indie Movie Expo with her wealthy aunt Mags, she's thrilled. It's about time she went on an adventure of her own, instead of just reading about them.

Maybe she'll meet some of her idols in the flesh! Maybe she'll even get to shake hands with Fredrick Northanger, the star of the smash hit prestige TV series "Inscrutable," and the main feature of Kit's fangirling. But expectation and reality are not at all matched, and despite her newfound friendship with the equally fangirly celebutant Izzy Thorpe, Kit finds BathTIME insular and backstabby, instead of the hub of creativity her aunt had promised.

And then Kit meets Henni Tilney. The only gentlewoman in a town of rakes - and a voracious reader, like herself - Henni and Kit's will-they-or-won't-they romance is the stuff, at least to Kit's mind, of epic love stories.

But it all comes tumbling down when Henni's father accuses Kit of only dating his daughter to get to Henni's brother - Fredrick Northanger himself!

How on earth is Kit going to be able to save not only her online reputation, but her future as a professional author, and her relationship with Henni when the whole world thinks she's just some selfish, slobbering fangirl who reads too many novels?
