Right Person, Wrong Time (Adult ZukoxReader)

After helping overthrow the Fire Lord, peace had been settled between all four nations. With time passed, the Gaang had slightly shifted. Katara was helping Aang build Republic City, Toph was teaching students how to metalbend at her school, Sokka and Y/N had found comfort at the Southern Water Tribe helping each other work on gadgets, and Zuko was leading the Fire Nation.

It isn't until Aang leaves Katara in the middle of the night of Republic City, that everyone sees each other again after time has passed. Despite knowing that she needs to go and help Avatar Aang, Y/N feels a sort of anxiety at the thought of seeing her ex boyfriend, Zuko after their breakup. Pushing through the anxiety, she decides to go and help anyway.

Along the way of their journey, do past feelings and regrets resurface. With the help of the Gaang, does Y/N sort through the mess and memories between her and Zuko. After all, maybe Zuko was always the love of her life. He was just the right person at the wrong time.
