Golden Static

1978. Before the records, the fame, and the crown, he was just Michael-a young man chasing perfection.

Jasmine Monroe never expected a last-minute costume assignment on a Broadway revival of The Wiz to change her life. But one wrong turn backstage introduces her to Michael Jackson, the shy, ambitious young star playing the Scarecrow and standing on the verge of becoming a legend.

What begins beneath the bright lights of a New York theater as an unlikely friendship soon blossoms into a love neither of them saw coming.

But as Michael's career skyrockets beyond Broadway, Jasmine is pulled deeper into a world where fame comes at a price-and power, family loyalty, and dangerous secrets blur the line between truth and illusion.

In the shadow of fame, love may not be enough to survive what lies beneath.
