At thirteen years old, Izuku Midoriya is powerless, abandoned by society and disowned by his family after nearly dying during a villain attack.

With nowhere else to turn, he enters the Gates-mysterious portals leading to dungeons filled with deadly monsters. If a dungeon is not cleared in time, its creatures escape and wreak havoc upon the world.

Those who awaken supernatural abilities within the Gates are known as Hunters. Unlike Quirks, their powers come from an unknown source-but awakening does not guarantee strength.

Izuku quickly earns the humiliating title of "The Weakest Hunter of All Mankind."

Everything changes when a routine D-rank raid reveals itself to be a rare Double Dungeon. Trapped inside a hidden temple filled with colossal, merciless statues, the raid team is slaughtered. The few survivors escape only because Izuku sacrifices himself to save them.

Three days later, Izuku awakens in a hospital.

Floating before his eyes is a strange video-game-like interface that only he can see. It gives him quests, rewards and penalties-and, most importantly, the ability to grow stronger without limit.
