Moss covered the surrendering buildings, twenty years of decay plummet the city into ruin. Jett remembered the old times, the billboards with video stars on them, the passersby's on the street, the society they used to have before the virus. He remembered the first day, nothing could erase the memory of it. He was only twenty four, a nurse at a local hospital, he saw the patients coming in, in numbers in the hundreds at least. All with the same symptoms, convulsing, bloodshot eyes, dehydration, low blood pressure. The immune system used the last bit of energy it had to try to fight this virus but it evolved too fast. Millions of people had the virus before it evolved, no one knew how it had spread, all we knew was when it evolved it was like a bomb. Sent millions into hospitals where it would spread further. Now the infected have branched off into categories of evolution, and it will only continue to spread until every breathing thing becomes one of them.
