For ten years, you have followed three rules:

Don't be seen.
Don't be remembered.
Don't get involved.

The last one has always been a problem.

At thirteen, one reckless act of heroism exposed an ability no one was supposed to know you possessed. By the end of the week, your face was on every television in America.

Three days later, your parents were dead.

So you disappeared.

Now twenty-three, you've finally managed to build something resembling a normal life in New York City. As far as the world is concerned, you're nobody-and you'd like to keep it that way.

Of course, occasionally a robber's gun mysteriously flies from his hand. A missing child inexplicably turns up somewhere safe. A woman being followed home discovers that her attacker has somehow ended up unconscious in an alley.

Small things.

Quiet things.

Things nobody notices.

Then a portal opens above Manhattan.

An alien army descends onto the city, people are dying in the streets, and for the first time in ten years, helping means being seen.

So you make a choice.

You step out of hiding.

It takes less than a day for the world to discover you exist.

It takes even less for Steve Rogers to notice you.

And somewhere inside an organization that was supposed to have forgotten you, a decade-old file is opened again.
