Sa loob ng apat na libong taon, nanatiling payapa ang mundo ng Aetherra dahil sa Pitong Arkan (bantay), mga sinaunang kapangyarihang pumipigil sa pagbabalik ng kadilimang minsang muntik nang sumira sa buong mundo.
Ngunit isang gabi, bumagsak ang Unang Arkan.
Muling nagising ang mga nilalang na matagal nang itinuring na alamat. Isa-isang nagkagulo ang pitong kaharian, at muling nabuhay ang isang propesiyang halos nakalimutan na ng kasaysayan.
Kasabay nito, pitong tao mula sa pitong magkaibang kaharian ang napiling magmana ng kapangyarihang hindi nila kailanman hiniling. Hindi sila magkakilala. Hindi sila magkakapareho. At hindi lahat sa kanila ay handang maging bayani.
Habang papalapit ang pinakamalaking digmaan sa kasaysayan ng Aetherra, kailangan nilang harapin ang mga halimaw, mga pagtataksil, at mga lihim na matagal nang itinago ng kanilang sariling mundo.
Dahil kung minsan, ang tunay na kalaban ay hindi ang kadilimang gustong makalaya...
Kundi ang katotohanang matagal nang ikinubli ng mundo.
