What if the Philippines had become a monarchy-and that monarchy survived for centuries before being erased from history?
Modern Filipino actor Deylen Mendezor is mysteriously transported to 1771, where he discovers that he is the Crown Prince of an alternate Philippine kingdom. As he struggles to understand this world, he discovers that the monarchy he is destined to inherit is built on political dynasties, inherited privilege, inequality, and the manipulation of history.
While trying to uncover why this monarchy eventually disappeared from the history he knows, Deylen becomes involved with Milana, whose relationship with him becomes the emotional heart of the story. But their romance is only the surface of a much larger conflict.
Through the fictional monarchy, the story reflects real issues in the Philippines today-political dynasties, corruption, social inequality, historical revisionism, and the concentration of power among a few families. Real Philippine history, culture, traditions, and historical events are woven into an alternate timeline to make history more accessible to contemporary readers.
Inspired by the social purpose of José Rizal's Noli Me Tangere, the story uses romance as an entry point to explore society, power, and national identity.
Ultimately, the story asks:
If we could rewrite Philippine history, would we create a better nation-or would we simply recreate the same problems under a different system?
