Jessica and Mollie have been inseparable for years, but beneath the surface, their friendship is beginning to crack. When the girls miss out on tickets to see their favourite indie band, they settle for a night of cheap cocktails and dancing instead. A forgotten phone leads to a chance meeting with Ryan "Eli" Hughes, the band's frontman, though Jessica doesn't realise who he is. What begins as a brief encounter slowly grows into a slippery, insecure tight rope connection built on dishonesty, distance and the comfort of finally being seen.

Then Ollie returns.

Jessica's first love left years earlier to study music in London, taking with him a version of her she thought she'd lost. Drawn back together by history, they find themselves slipping into something that feels familiar, safe and quietly inevitable. For a brief moment, they wonder if there's still something worth holding onto. They decide there isn't. Or at least, that's what they tell themselves. Soon after, Ollie begins building a life with someone else, leaving Jessica to wonder whether some people are meant to be loved, just never at the right time.

But life has a way of unravelling the people who think they're holding everything together. As the band races towards its breaking point, Mollie is faced with an unexpected pregnancy, old loyalties begin to blur, and Jessica is forced to confront the parts of herself she's spent years trying to bury. While Eli offers her a future she never imagined, Ollie remains a reminder of the person she used to be-and the life she thought she'd have.
