Four months was all it took for them to feel unbreakable.
Akari, Himari, Haruka, and Yui were the kind of friends who shared story, finished each other's sentences, and sat under the same room every lunch. Then the small things started to matter too much. Haruka's stubbornness sharpened. Himari's pride locked doors. Yui and Akari kept trying to hold the pieces together while the group slowly learned a new rhythm; fix, fight, prank, then repeat.
While the girls circled the same quiet wounds, Akari found herself walking home with Raiden more often than she meant to. He became the one person she didn't have to perform for. She never expected him to say the words he eventually did. She also never expected how complicated those words would feel.
