More Than Friends | The Crocodiles #1

Hannes Burgsmüller is new in Dortmund, desperate to find his place and determined to become one of the Crocodiles. All he has to do is survive their dangerous initiation and prove that he belongs.

But when a series of break-ins shakes the neighborhood, a sharp-tongued boy with a telescope claims to have seen something no one else believes. For Hannes, uncovering the truth soon becomes personal: if the break-ins cost his mother her job, they may have to leave Dortmund again.

Maria knows Hannes is reckless, stubborn, and far too willing to face danger alone. She also knows that what she feels for him stopped being simple friendship a long time ago. As the two grow closer, suspicion and fear begin to divide the Crocodiles-and Hannes must decide whether courage means going it alone or trusting the people who have started to feel like home.

A story about first love, friendship, belonging, and the courage to let someone stand beside you.
