Chain the Beast

In a world rotting from the inside, few know its cruelty better than Alatar Kane, a man even more ruthless than the age that forged him. Most know him as "The Unforgiven," a cursed man painted in the ashes of his past, or "The Beastmonger," an apex predator that cannot be killed, reasoned with, or corrupted. All society sees is something that is more beast than man. Few know the eternal struggle he faces to keep that beast in check, not only for their sake, but for his own, and eventually, for her sake.

Idris can't remember who she lost, or the blood-soaked night that shattered her life, but the nightmare remains the same: a mask with no face behind it, a power that belonged to someone else, and her destiny held in clawed hands. Her own life has never truly been her own. Pushed around by corrupt elites and toyed with by the forces of darkness, she finally gets a chance to reclaim her life after an encounter with Alatar.

However when the corrupt authorities of the kingdom of Desle find and arrest Alatar, the task of protection falls into the hands of the dragonhearted protector of Desle, Kai, a moral man forced into oath under an immoral crown. His hands were already tied, but in his task of protection, Kai finds that Desle has ties running much deeper and darker than he could imagine.

The destinies of Alatar and Idris were intertwined long ago, and not entirely by choice. When a plot to resurrect primordial darkness from Alatar's own bloodline is set in motion, these two broken souls must meet again to stop it, and to fix themselves. However, with dark forces manipulating every move they make, their only hope may lie in the very thing Alatar keeps under chains.

The beast must be caged to save himself...but must be unleashed to save them all.
