While I'm Fading...

Everyone thinks I'm okay.

They see the smile I wear.
The way I show up when people need me.
The way I keep going, even when I'm exhausted.

They call me strong.

But they don't see what happens when I'm alone.

They don't hear the thoughts I fight every day.
They don't feel the weight I carry.
They don't know how hard it is to keep pretending that everything is fine.

After losing my father, cutting ties with my mother and sister, and slowly becoming a stranger to the people I once loved, I've learned how to survive without anyone.

My boyfriend is still beside me...

But somehow, I've never felt more alone.

For years, I convinced myself that silence was easier than asking for help.

Until I finally admit the truth:

I'm not okay.

Therapy becomes my first attempt at finding the person I used to be. A place where I can finally say the things I've hidden for years.

But healing isn't simple.

Some memories don't disappear.
Some wounds don't close easily.
