It is the beginning of a life... born amid others destined for extinction. Kingdoms devouring each other, flags stained with blood, and promises broken in the name of victory. While some cry out for peace, war answers with corpses, a reminder that mercy has no place on the battlefield.

Among these doomed stories emerges Lady Agness, a young girl of Russian and Japanese blood, raised to the sound of screams, steel, and explosions. Death did not surround her: it ran through her. She watched too many fall, heard the last breaths of soldiers who still believed in her, and learned too soon that surviving can also be a curse.

As a rookie officer of the Golden Empire, Agness was forced to lead before she was ready. Every order she gave sealed fates; every step forward dragged her men toward near-certain death. They called them heroes when they fell... but she remembered them by their names, by the emptiness in their eyes at the end, by the guilt that built up in her chest like a wound that never healed.
