What happens when all of a sudden the ink on the most important maps of the world... goes blank?
The death of Elias Castielli brings a mysterious curse upon the house of the most talented scholars, and suddenly all the maps written and sold by them go blank, causing chaos all over the seas.
His niece, Starlette Castielli, outshined by her brother in most aspects, runs from home and embarks on the journey of a lifetime, in search of answers, in order to prove herself worthy of the Castielli name. Her plans are turned off course when she's caught sneaking on the ship of one of the most dangerous pirate captains that ruled the known seas.
Captain Storm Crow spent a decade trying to get his dirty claws on one of the Vestigian maps made by the Castielli. And when he finally has one that can take him to what he's risked the most for, the ink on it suddenly disappears. He'll never admit what he's truly chasing, not to his crew, not to the girl he needs, not even to himself on his worst nights, but he barely believes it when he finds out that a scholar's blood is now his only ticket back to it.
Bound by a deal neither of them wanted to make, they'll have to survive pirate hunters, cursed waters, and a witch who trades in truths no one wants to hear, all before Vestigian magic is entirely lost, and with it, any chance either of them has left to save what they love most.

Once Upon Now Grand Prize Winner published by Gallery Books. Sixteen-year-old Mira Sighansen never questions her place in the majestic wilderness of the Yukon Territory until she witnesses her brothers' oil rig explode. Refusing to believe the young men are dead, the teen's suspicions are strengthened when their bodies aren't found and she's later visited by six wild egrets. But these are no ordinary birds, and Mira is faced with a remarkable task not even the loss of her voice or the anger of her best friend (over a boy, of course!) can hamper. Convinced she can break a magical enchantment to bring her brothers back, Mira will risk jail and even psychiatric commitment to stop the rig from being rebuilt. Failure to overcome the doubts of her mayor mother, the opposition of her drilling foreman step-father, and the wrath of an industry thirsty for the valuable natural resource could mean not only the end of her family as she knows it, but also the loss of a vital part of her peoples' culture. This 9,000 word original short story is a modern-day retelling of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale number forty-nine 'The Six Swans' with a First Nations twist. The Body Politic
Politics is a cutthroat game, but when you're dead, it doesn't matter what they cut. And it is a dirty game, filled with the kind of people that think nothing of ruining an opponent's life, but few go so far as throwing their counterparts through windows. When Balmy Bymeadow is improbably murdered, his son, Myld, is forced to carry on his father's legacy, but, in order to do so, he must take the unprecedented course of keeping his dead father around. Aided by Finella, a uniquely talented taxidermist, her sister, Flinda, a self-appointed Fairly Gods-Mother, and Phibber Monkshot, a wily and incredibly competent civil servant, in his corner, Myld must navigate the torrid waters of politics, deal with his surprisingly mobile dead father, avoid several near-death experiences and learn what it requires to get elected in a city where politics is quite literally a life or death struggle. With a pinch of 'Yes, Minister', a dash of 'The Walking Dead', and a heaped spoonful of 'Discworld'. The fourth novel of the ongoing Discworld inspired series.Complete
