Geography Year I: Physical Geography

Physical Geography is the branch of geography that studies the Earth's natural features, physical processes, and environmental systems. It explores how the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere interact to shape the landscapes, climates, bodies of water, and ecosystems that support life on our planet. In this course, you will develop essential geographic skills such as reading maps, interpreting geographic data, and using modern technologies like Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). You will investigate topics such as Earth's structure, plate tectonics, landforms, weather and climate, the hydrologic cycle, bodies of water, ecosystems, natural resources, and environmental stewardship. As you study these concepts, you will gain a deeper understanding of the dynamic processes that continuously shape the Earth and recognize the importance of protecting its natural environment.
