Pool of Thoughts

Ybarsabal Series #2

Running away was the only way Isleen Vyera Lariego thought she could survive.

Terrified of her obsessive ex-boyfriend, Louiege "Louie" Madridegos-the son of a powerful mayor-Isleen leaves her old life behind and creates a new identity as Ivy. With no one knowing where she is, she finds work as a cleaner at a luxurious Ybarsabal-owned resort in Liwana, hoping to finally live a quiet life far away from the man who refuses to let her go.

There, she meets Axcervio Brenz Ybarsabal, a quiet, calm, and observant man from one of the most influential political families in the province. Unlike the people Ivy has learned to fear, Ax never pressures her to speak about her past, and their relationship begins quietly-through stolen glances, shared silence, and afternoons spent beside the resort pool, where Ax eventually calls it her "Pool of Thoughts."

But Ivy's peaceful life doesn't last.

When Ax becomes the target of a kidnapping, Ivy finds herself caught in a dangerous situation she never asked to be part of. What begins as an attempt to save the man who unknowingly became her safe place soon reveals connections to Louie, his powerful family, and the Ybarsabals-connections that force Ivy to question whether running away was ever enough to keep her safe.

As love grows in the middle of fear, Ivy must decide how far she is willing to go to protect Ax, even if saving him means exposing the identity she sacrificed everything to hide.

Because sometimes, the people you run from are not the only ones searching for you.

And sometimes, the person who becomes your safest place is the one who puts you in the greatest danger.
