Their lost start

There used to be laughter.

There used to be seven tiny boys chasing each other through the grass, all shouting over each other, fighting over whose turn it was on the swing set.
And there used to be a little dumpling waddling behind them with chubby cheeks and a bunny-printed bucket hat.

Seven-year-old Yoongi.

The baby of the Kim family. Soft-spoken. Gentle. A bit slow to keep up with his six older brothers, but they never minded waiting.

"Hyung! Wait for me!" Yoongi would squeak, feet too small to keep pace with the others.

Namjoon always slowed down. Jin always turned back. Hoseok carried him on his back sometimes. The twins, Taehyung and Jimin, sang silly songs with him. And Jungkook even as the second-youngest always held Yoongi's hand.

That day at the park... it was supposed to be like every other sunny afternoon.

But in one blink, Yoongi was gone.
