Christian Aldith was a strange person. He was afraid of a lot of things. He didn’t get along with people. He was the kid who sat in the back of the class and no one noticed. The person who wouldn’t stand out if you saw him walking down the street, or at a coffee shop. No one really knew him at all. No one except her. No one except Dustin. Dustin Saywen was almost the opposite. She wasn't afraid of anything, because there wasn't really anything to be afraid of. She had a few friends that she spent time with, and she talked to people. She knew people. But she was different then all the others. Just like Christian was. She was different, because she knew how to live.

'The freak of the school' what a dumb name. I never personally thought he was a freak. To me, he was one of the kindest people that went to our school. I had a lot of problems growing up. During the last year of middle school, I moved away to a different high school. A lot of people didn't even recognise me when I returned to the Hawkins High school. Something about me made Eddie focus his attention on me, but it wasn't until later on he realised I was the same girl that was his date to the middle school snowball dance. It was good for a while, you know? But then everything went down hill and he went into hiding, I did too.
