The Potter They Threw Away

James Potter had two children.

The world only remembered one.

Before Harry Potter became the Boy Who Lived, James had a daughter with Shizuka Nekonome-a half-witch, half-yokai girl named Akari Nekonome-Potter.

But Lily Evans never accepted her.

Forced to choose, James sent Akari away. No visits. No promises. No return.

Akari learned to stop waiting.

Then James and Lily died.

The daughter he abandoned became his firstborn heir-and future Lady Potter.

At Hogwarts, she meets her brother, Harry.

He is Gryffindor. She is Slytherin.

Rivalry and resentment grow.

Then the Goblet of Fire changes everything.

Cedric Diggory is chosen-then two more names appear.

Akari Nekonome-Potter.
Harry James Potter.

One entry. Two champions.

Hogwarts cheers Cedric. Slytherin claims Akari. Harry blames her.

During the First Task, they hide from a Hungarian Horntail. They argue.

Harry snaps:

"No one would care. One less Slytherin."

He shoves her. The dragon breathes.

Akari survives-but is horribly burned on the right side of her body.

Everyone sees. Everyone hears.

When she wakes, she makes her choice.

She invokes an ancient rite.

Harry is stripped of the Potter name.

Harry James Potter becomes Harry James Evans.

But the Goblet still binds them.

The Tournament continues. The Second Task approaches. The maze awaits.

And Akari, sensing something wrong, finally listens to her instincts.

Because the Potter they threw away may be the only one who realizes-

the Tournament was never meant to be won.
