Once Upon a Time

Hector Bennett is a twelve-year-old boy living alone in New York City. Despite his young age, Hector has managed to survive on his own, keeping a low profile and avoiding questions about his past. He has always known that something about him is different, though he has never fully understood what it is.

For as long as he can remember, Hector has possessed strange abilities. Sometimes objects move when he becomes frightened or angry. Sometimes strange lights appear around his hands. And occasionally, when his emotions become overwhelming, he experiences flashes of places he has never seen before.

Hector has learned to keep his abilities hidden

Until one night, something goes wrong

While alone in his apartment, Hector's powers suddenly surge beyond his control. A strange magical portal opens around him, and before he can understand what is happening, Hector is pulled through it.
